Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul: Could We See a Diaz Brother Return to the Spotlight?

The Diaz brothers are back in the MMA conversation.

Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz remain two of the most recognizable and controversial names in combat sports, and recent developments have once again put the legendary Stockton brothers in the spotlight.

Nate Diaz: Another Chapter Outside the UFC

Nate Diaz returned to MMA in May 2026 after leaving the UFC in 2022. He faced Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1 on May 16, but the comeback didn't go according to plan. Perry stopped Diaz via TKO/corner stoppage after the second round.

Despite the loss, Diaz's name remains extremely valuable in combat sports. His personality, history, and huge fan base continue to make him one of the sport's biggest attractions.

Nate Diaz Jake Paul

Now, an even more intriguing possibility has emerged.

Jake Paul has publicly called for an MMA fight with Nate Diaz.

Paul and Diaz previously fought in boxing in 2023, with Paul winning by unanimous decision. Paul is now interested in taking their rivalry into the MMA world, potentially under the MVP/PFL banner.

A Diaz-Paul MMA rematch would obviously attract enormous attention. It would also give Diaz an opportunity to settle the rivalry under a completely different set of rules.

What About Nick Diaz?

While Nate has been competing again, Nick Diaz's situation is more uncertain.

Nick has not competed in the UFC since his 2021 bout with Robbie Lawler. Lawler stopped Diaz in the third round, and Nick has remained away from active competition since then.

However, reports of Nick returning to training have once again sparked speculation about a potential comeback.

Nick Diaz has always been one of MMA's most unique fighters. His boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, relentless pressure and unapologetic personality made him a fan favorite during his UFC and Strikeforce careers.

A healthy Nick Diaz returning to competition would undoubtedly generate enormous interest, even though there is currently no confirmed UFC fight for him.

Could We See the Diaz Brothers Back in the UFC?

That's the big question.

Nate appears to be the more active of the two, but his current path is outside the UFC. His potential MMA matchup with Jake Paul could become one of the biggest combat-sports crossover events if it actually happens.

Nick's future is much less certain. A return to professional MMA would be a major story by itself, but fans will have to wait for an official announcement before assuming that another Diaz fight is coming.

For now, the Diaz brothers remain firmly connected to the MMA spotlight.

Whether it's Nate potentially sharing the cage with Jake Paul or Nick Diaz returning to training, the legendary Stockton brothers continue to generate headlines years after their UFC careers entered a different chapter.

And if either brother steps back into the cage again, the MMA world will certainly be watching.
